my friend irma
biography

Tim  Guy  Tom & Dave

Formed in Cambridge & Newmarket in the Autumn of 1998

Dave Morris drums
Listens to (among others) The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.  The legendary tattooed colossus, dynamic, inventive and energetic, all without spilling his pint!  Dave on my friend irma: “We’re a diverse, quirky bunch, making music that we like and we hope everybody likes too.  We get a lot of support… people who come to see us generally, and genuinely enjoy themselves”

Tom Kendon vocals & guitar
Works the stage like he owns it.  His enthusiasm is infectious, his vocals compelling and his presence undeniable!  Listens to Ezio, Lemon Jelly & much more.  Tom on ‘the ultimate Irma hook’ : “It would be one of those infectious things that you would find yourself whistling to, even if you can’t whistle.  And if you ever spotted a milkman (although they are a rare breed these days), he, or she would always be whistling it.  It’ll be the song that people hear in their heads first thing in the morning, and can’t get out for the rest of the day.

Guy Henderson guitars & electronics
His ambition for the band is to make a decent record, and tour and see the world. Guy on his equipment: “I’ve probably got one of the most strangest and out-there effects boards in the country.  I’ve gotta get something than someone else hasn’t got, that someone doesn’t know about.  I’ve got in touch with inventors around the country that make small hand made effects, all completely analogue”

Tim Glasswell bass guitar
Listens to lots, including The Who and Marillion, and keeps the irma archive in order.  Tim on the band dynamics:” we have spent a lot of time together and we’ve got used to each other. I don’t think there’s anything we wouldn’t say to each other, as we’re all very honest.  There is a certain something between the four of us that works, 99% of the time!
